Dawson attends Inaugural ANROWS conference

Professor Myrna Dawson was one of only a few international attendees and one of only two Canadians that attended the Inaugural Conference for the Australian National Research Organization for Women’s Safety (ANROWS). Translating ANROWS research into policy and practice was the specific focus of the conference. Each session featured one of 19 research projects being funded through ANROWS. Researchers presented key findings to kick-start discussions on how the findings are currently being used, and how they might inform future work. ANROWS is an independent, not-for-profit established as part of Australia’s National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022 (the National Plan). It is jointly funded by the Commonwealth and all state and territory governments of Australia, who are the members of the company. Dr. Dawson is a Visiting Scholar in Queensland, Australia. The conference was held in Melbourne, Victoria.
