Dawson and Walby host a series of sessions at the virtual ISA Forum

As part of the International Sociological Association’s IV (Virtual) Forum on Sociology, Prof. Sylvia Walby, City, University of London (UK) and University of Guelph Sociology Prof. Myrna Dawson co-organized several sessions for the new thematic group Violence & Society as well as the research committee Deviance and Control. Focusing on trends in interpersonal violence as well as a specific emphasis on gender-based violence and femicide, the three sessions attracted presenters from Brazil, Canada, Italy, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Dawson and Walby are co-organizers and interim presidents for the newly formed thematic group on violence.
