Churchill Fellow visits CSSLRV researchers

Churchill Fellow and Solicitor Julia Mansour from Women’s Legal Services in New South Wales, Australia, is visiting the Centre for the Study of Social and Legal Responses to Violence at the University of Guelph this week as part of her North American tour to examine research and issues related to women victims of intimate partner violence who become defendants to either criminal charges or protection orders in domestic violence cases.

UG researchers to collaborate on grant examining domestic violence in the workplace

Centre Director Myrna Dawson and Belinda Leach, faculty in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology, are collaborators on a recently-funded SSHRC Partnership Development Grant awarded to the Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women and Children (CREVAWC), Western University, to examine the impact of domestic violence on workers and workplaces.

Dawson and Hotton approved for homicide survey pilot project

Centre Director Dr. Myrna Dawson and Research Associate Tina Hotton and have been selected to conduct research using Statistics Canada’s Homicide Survey as part of a pilot project being conducted by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics in conjunction with Statistics Canada’s Research Data Centres.
